Tin Tuc

Tin Tuc
The UNIS School Newsletter, Tin Tuc,  gives our UNIS community information about school events, notices and procedures. Our latest newsletter was issued on Friday, 5 September.

Mother Earth Celebrated
All the ECC teachers and the parents too are very proud of the little stars who danced and sang in our Performing Arts Celebration of “Mother Earth.” It was an evening of creative sounds and vibrant colours.  It was a wonderful opportunity for children to display the many attitudes from the Learners’ Profile, particularly those of confidence, creativity, empathy, enthusiasm, commitment, respect and appreciation. Wow! That’s a lot of attitudes covered in one performance! Click here to view the wind, rain, water, sun, sky and earth photos.

Operation Smile
Staff and students attended the annual Vietnam International Operation Smile Mission in Hue. We are very privileged as UNIS is the only school in the world that is invited to attend such events. There were 150 operations taking place over 4 days with a team of 50 international surgeons. UNIS students and staff assisted with pre and post operating care with our school nurse Lan Anh working alongside surgeons in the operating room. Click here to view photos.

UNIS Singers Grades 3-5
Thirty-four vibrant and glorious singers from Grades 3 to 5 travelled to the Hoan Liet Kindergarten to present musical instruments and sing for the children.  As a result of a previous fundraiser they were able to present a keyboard, CD player, Vietnamese drums and other instruments to the children to support their music programmes at Hoan Liet Kindergarten, Tu Ky Village, Hoang Liet Ward.  Click here to view the fun photos.

Grade 7 Humanities Class
Take a look at the animated stories about Children in Conflict Zones. The animated stories discuss the causes and consequences of conflict. The students talk about conflict as a global issue regardless of which continent one lives on.

A Global Warning !!!
The Grade 5 Exhibition was fantastic! Students went step by step to get to the amazing week of the final product. First students had to make up the ‘Lines of Inquiry’ and the ‘Central Idea.’ The ‘Central Idea’ was  “Each person makes a global impact on conserving resources and sustaining the environment.”

is an opportunity for the UNIS community – parents, students, staff and their spouses – to use our recreation facilities for a reasonable fee outside of school hours.
