The Campus

In 2004 UNIS moved to a new purpose-built campus located on 9.2 hectares in Tay Ho District.

The main Elementary School building is Building 9 which houses grades 1 to 5, Nurse’s room, Swedish, Vietnamese, staff room and the elementary office. The playground is a large fenced, open area with an extensive adventure playground. There is ample play area between the buildings and a grassed area. Areas will be opened up for playing once the grass is established.

The Early Childhood Education Centre, Building 11, is a state-of-the-art facility that meets the needs of Discovery to Kindergarten children and includes its own outdoor play space and coordinators office as well as a small staff room.

The Middle and High School is Building 5. A separate High School is envisaged for Phase two of the campus. Building 5 consists of a 2-storey structure comprising general purpose learning areas, small computer labs, break-out rooms for discussion, a teacher work area and offices for the CAS, IB Diploma, MYP coordinator and EAL coordinator. A teacher preparation area is located in the staff room that offers a relaxing place to work if a teacher’s classroom is being utilized by other staff during a block. A central courtyard is designed to facilitate small group discussions. There is a small amphitheatre built in the courtyards that provides a meeting place for teachers and students.

Building 6 is the Science and Technology building and comprises 4 Science laboratories with attached lecture areas, two Science preparation areas, a Design Technology Lab and an IT cluster that comprises a server room, two computer labs and technology support office. The general store is also located in this building. A courtyard with a biological pond adds to the quiet ambiance.

Building 4 forms the new PE Sports Facility. It houses all of the PE staff for both Elementary and MS/HS, store rooms, PE change/shower rooms, movement room, fitness room and a 25 meter pool for the MS/HS and a smaller pool designed for beginning swimmers.

Building 10 is where Art and Music for elementary and MS/HS are located.

Building 7, the administration centre is where Drama and Art are temporarily housed.
