UN DAY Celebrated on 16th October

The UNIS campus came alive as flag bearers and 58 flags streamed across the stage to make a colorful array of unity.  This year the focus of UN Day centered around the theme, “Achievements and Advancements made in Astronomy”.  Mr Bruce Campbell, the UN Acting Resident Coordinator in Vietnam connected the solar system to the projects the UN works on throughout the world. Dr Nguyen Hanh Quyen from the Space Technology Institute spoke about the first cosmonaut from Vietnam to experience space flight, Mr Pham Tuan and the current Astrophysics studies being in Vietnam.  Dr Chip Barder, UNIS Head of School celebrated the day by involving the audience in “We Can Make Difference”.
