Tuition Deposit to Secure Seat at UNIS Hanoi
All students are required to pay a deposit to secure a place at the United Nations International School (hereinafter known as “UNIS-Hanoi”) for the next academic year.
For new and returning students, the required deposit is USD 1,000. Invoices will be prepared for returning students once UNIS-Hanoi receives written confirmation that the child/ren will continue for the 2008-2009 academic year. The tuition deposit for these students’ is due by April 14, 2008. UNIS-Hanoi will likewise prepare invoices for all newly accepted students who have agreed to UNIS-Hanoi’s offer of placement for the coming school year.
The deposit is mandatory. This payment guarantees a seat for the student listed in the invoice, provided all other requirements are met. Failure to make payment by the due date may result in the loss of the student’s seat. The deposit will be credited against tuition in the first invoice for the 2008-2009 school year. The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable if a student is unable to attend UNIS-Hanoi.
For students enrolling at the beginning of the school year, there are two payment options:
Option One: A full academic year’s tuition is paid by the first day of school (18 August 2008) or at the date of enrolment if in the first quarter.
Option Two: A quarterly payment plan with no refund option. A four percent (4%) finance charge will be levied on the annual tuition fee. Please refer to the tuition fee table outlined below, which specifies the percentage of total tuition fee paid each quarter. |

The following fees are compulsory, non-refundable and non-transferable.
Enrolment Fee: USD 750 per student
This fee is payable when a student who is applying to UNIS is offered a place with the School. The Enrolment Fee is paid only once, as long as a student is continuously enrolled. If a student leaves UNIS for a period of more than two years and subsequently re-enrols, the Enrolment Fee is again payable.
Annual Development Fee: USD 3,000 per student (USD 1,500 per semester)
This fee is payable by each student enrolled at UNIS. This fee may be paid annually (USD 3,000), or on a semester basis (USD 1,500 per semester). The Annual Development Fee is non-refundable under any circumstance. The Annual Development Fee for Pre-kindergarten is USD 1,500 per annum (USD 750 per semester).
School Bus Fee: USD 600 per year (USD 150 per quarter)
This fee is for students who elect to take the transportation contracted by the School. This fee may be paid annually (USD600) or on a quarterly basis (USD150 per quarter). Refunds will be made only for full quarters of non-usage, i.e. there will be no pro-rata refund for withdrawal from the bus service during a particular quarter.
Swedish Language Fee: To be determined (Swedish students only)
The Swedish Language Programme is for native Swedish speakers only. The fee is payable in full at the time of enrollment in the Swedish Language Programme.

For students enrolling during the first quarter, but after the first day of school, the tuition payment options apply as shown in the table on page one. For students enrolling during the second, third or fourth quarters, tuition will be payable as follows:

If Option Two (the quarterly payment plan) is chosen, the first payment is due before the beginning of the following quarters with the following due dates:

- Quarter 4 Due by 20 March 2009
| Refund Procedures For Tuition |
For students withdrawing during the 2008-2009 academic school year, refunds will only apply if Option One is chosen. Refunds will be in accordance with the following schedule:

Students enrolled at UNIS-Hanoi are eligible for the following discounts under the following circumstances:
Families with three or more children simultaneously in attendance at UNIS-Hanoi will receive a ten percent (10%) discount on tuition fees for the third child and a fifteen percent (15%) discount on tuition fees for the fourth and subsequent child/ren. These discounts will be applied to the youngest child/ren in attendance. These discounts are not applicable to any other fees payable to UNIS-Hanoi.
For children who have attended UNIS-Hanoi for four consecutive years, a discount of USD 500 of the Annual Development Fee will be applied, beginning with the fifth year of attendance.

Tuition and fees are payable by the due date indicated on the invoice. Late payment penalties shall be applied as follows:

| Parental Financial Obligation |
1. Tuition: Parents of students enrolled at the United Nations International School of Hanoi (UNIS-Hanoi) are required to pay tuition fees as detailed in the Tuition and Fees Schedule. Parents have the option of paying fees on annually in advance, or on a quarterly instalment basis. Fees applicable under the quarterly payment plan are subject to a four percent (4%) finance charge.
2. Compulsory Fees: The following fees are compulsory for all students of UNIS-Hanoi.
Enrolment Fee: USD 750 per student. Due when a place is offered. This fee must be paid before a student can begin attending classes. This is a one-time, non-refundable, and non-transferable fee.
Development Fee (K-12): USD 3,000 per student. Due before a child begins school. Parents have the option of paying this fee annually or in two semester instalments of USD 1,500 per semester. This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
Development Fee (PK): USD 1,500 per student due before a child begins school. Parents have the option of paying this fee annually or in two semester instalments of USD750 per semester. (No Development Fee will apply for Discovery students).
3. Other Fees: The following fees may be applicable as outlined in the tuition and fees information sheet.
School Bus Fee: USD 600 per year or USD 150 per quarter
Swedish Language Programme Fee: To be determined
4. Miscellaneous Expenses: During the course of the academic year, students may incur miscellaneous expenses that are not outlined in the Tuition and Fees information sheet. Examples include optional field trips, physical education T-shirts, lunch, MRISA sporting events, etc.

1. All tuition and fees are invoiced in U.S. dollars only.
2. An invoice embossed with the school seal will be issued for all tuition and fees. Tuition and fees must be paid by the due date listed on the invoice.
3. After 15 days of non-payment, a ten percent (10%) penalty will be applied to the unpaid invoice. After 30 days of non-payment, the Head of School may suspend the student.
4. Payment may be made by any one of three methods detailed in the Tuition and Fees Information Sheet. Any bank charges incurred by the school from payments made any way other than according to the instructions detailed in the Tuition and Fees Information Sheet will be charged to the student’s account.
5. Payment of tuition and fees are the legal responsibility of the parents. Where payment of fees is to be made by a third party (for example, an employer) the parent will be liable for any non-payment of fees. In all instances, all correspondence in relation to the non-payment of fees will be between UNIS and the parent. No correspondence will be entered into with the third party unless the third party has entered into a contractual relationship with UNIS with regards to payment of the said fees.
6. Refunds will only be issued when UNIS-Hanoi receives a written request for the refund from a parent, and when UNIS-Hanoi confirms that a refund is due. In the event that a student withdraws from UNIS-Hanoi, all other obligations to the school, including returning any school property (i.e. library books, laptop computers, and parking permits), must be met before a refund is issued.
OPTION 1: Pay 100% of total tuition fees to UNIS by the first day of school or upon enrolment if beginning during mid-year.
OPTION 2 (Quarterly Payment Plan): Pay a predetermined percentage of annual tuition each quarter as outlined below. A four percent (4%) finance charge will be applied to the annual tuition fees payable.
